Liverpool’s Holy Grail youth, Alexander-Arnold, is set to re-sign with the club.

“Liverpool have opened talks with England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold over a new contract,” British media outlet TalkSPORT reported on Monday (Aug. 18). Arnold’s existing contract expires in the summer of 2025.

Arnold is a wing-back but is also versatile enough to play in midfield. He has a very good kick and is a key part of Liverpool’s attack as he can deliver running crosses, early crosses and long passes. He’s also strong on dead balls, making him the team’s set-piece kicker.

His real breakthrough came in the 2018/19 season. He was consistently good and helped his teammates with his kicking ability, and he also excelled in the Champions League, winning the Champions League with one goal and 16 assists and being named to the PFA Team of the Year.

In his 277 appearances for Liverpool, Arnold won the Champions League as well as the Premier League title in 2020, as well as the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Arnold scored 16 goals and provided a whopping 73 assists during that time.바카라사이트

Arnold finished 22nd in the 2022 Ballon d’Or voting as Liverpool finished second in the Premier League behind Man City, narrowly missing out on a historic quadruple. He was too shaky in defense in the first half of last season, but as the tactics changed in the second half, he put in a monster performance and proved why he is a world-class defender.

Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool have started the 2023/24 season in third place, two points behind league leaders Manchester City.

The Reds are hoping to have Arnold back for this week’s Europa League match against LASK after he picked up an injury in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
